Building-A-Toolbox-For-Your-Anxiety

Below is a guest post by Melissa Field, on building a toolbox for your anxiety. I love this idea, because anxiety affects so many people, and it’s wonderful to have a go-to toolbox full of tools for when you feel anxiety coming on!

I recently began digging into why I have a deeply rooted fear of success. After a lot of journal writing, I discovered it came down to one thing: I equated success with being overwhelmed.

I used to hate my job. I really HATED my job.

In fact, I guess I hated it so much that one day, after walking into a little metaphysical store that I sometimes stop by at, just to feel the peace and smell the wonderful incense ‘flavors’ and candles (including the prerequisite “Chakra” and “Keep Your Lover” candles), I must have been complaining about my job, because the clerk of the shop said, “Well, what do you want to do?” with a big smile on her face.

Best-Book-On-Writing

I joined a blogger book club a few weeks ago, called Write or DieBack in April, the group decided to read Bird By Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life by Anne Lamott. Knowing nothing about the book, I purchased a used copy from the Goodwill and cracked it open, looking forward to reading a book I knew nothing  about.

I've Missed You

I’ve missed blogging so, so much, but I’m swamped with the writing assignments that I have due by May 30th. I’ll admit, it’s a good problem to have, but when I’m driving home from work with dozens of blog post ideas swarming and slithering around in my head, I’ll admit, it makes me kind of crazy not being able to post them.

10-Things-To-Do-Now-That-The-LA-Kings-Are-Out-of-Playoffs

Adam and I, along with thousands of other Kings fans, were super bummed (okay heartbroken) when the LA Kings didn’t make the playoffs this year. We’ve been half-heartedly watching the playoff season, trying to get excited, looking for any small thing to brighten our spirits, but our efforts have been futile.

I read somewhere that consistency pays off and it does. I’m so happy to share with you two posts I recently got published, and some news about a new writing gig I’ve landed for a print magazine!

Clock fleur de lis

I just wanted to pop in and say hello, since I’ve been working my little rump off lately, and none of it has had anything to do with blogging.

InstagrammableMarch

A few weeks ago a blogger I follow (Ashley from the Nashvillian) published a post called ‘Instagrammable February’, where she posted all of her Instagram pictures from the month of February. I thought that was a fabulous way to remember the month, so I decided I would try it myself!
