10-Things-To-Do-Now-That-The-LA-Kings-Are-Out-of-Playoffs

Adam and I, along with thousands of other Kings fans, were super bummed (okay heartbroken) when the LA Kings didn’t make the playoffs this year. We’ve been half-heartedly watching the playoff season, trying to get excited, looking for any small thing to brighten our spirits, but our efforts have been futile.

We just can’t really get into anything, and we’re only watching the playoffs because…hockey.

So we decided to make a list of things to do now that the Kings are out of the playoffs. Anything we can do to keep the LA Kings spirit alive.

So here they are:

1. Adjust the contrast on your TV so that the uniforms for teams in the playoffs look white and black.

2. Follow Bailey on Periscope and Twitter, to be the first to know when there’s a car chase. It’s almost as exciting as watching a game. Sort of.

3. Go to Sport Chalet in Downtown LA and reminisce about the day you got your picture taken there with the Stanley Cup.

4. Take a trip to the Staples Center and visit the Robitaille and Gretzky statues. Bring a few beach chairs and a beer while you’re at it. (Don’t really bring a beer or camp out, you might get arrested).

5. Take advantage of the discount LA Kings gear, and try not to cry because of why it’s so cheap this time of year.

6. Watch the basketball playoffs but picture them all wearing skates, with a goalie covering the basket. (If you squint your eyes a little, it kinda works).

7. Try and catch a foul ball at a Dodger game…wearing a hockey glove.

8. Ask the Hooters girls in Downtown LA if they’ll put on your Stanley Cup Playoffs DVD. Just so you can still watch the Kings in a sports bar.

9. Watch the playoffs just to see the Ducks eliminated.

10. Drink Jim Fox’s wine. If you drink enough, you might be able to pretend its his voice you’re hearing during the playoffs. (If you can stomach them).

Thanks for humoring me with this post, it had to be written. I am feeling pretty empty without seeing the Kings play, but I’ll admit it’s nice not to be stressed this time of year. Big thanks to Adam for helping me out with this post (he’s funnier than I am). Oh and he’s on Twitter now!

And with that my friends, I’m off to beautiful Maui! Be sure to follow along on Instagram to see the adventure unfold! :)
