I’ve been learning the importance of personal creeds and manifestos through my favorite entrepreneur, Jonathan Fields. His free e-book on the study of how revolutions are started, and how that can apply to business, has really changed the way I think about marketing, branding, and even blogging. I could never do his e-book justice, so if you’re interested in the art of revolution as it pertains to business, read the free e-book here, or listen to it here.

So what I’ve done is developed a blog creed, to put in perspective the main message behind A Novel Quest. I’ve always struggled to find the right words to accurately describe my intentions with this blog, and I’ve never been able to put my finger on it. So I thought, what’s the one message I want to convey to people who visit this blog? What’s one thing they can read, to know what me and this blog are truly all about, and what it has to give?  I’ve condensed the message into a short, one-page creed based on the emotions and feelings I try to make felt through every blog post. I know I’ll need to make edits to it every once in awhile as things change, and as I grow to become more of who I truly am, but for now, here you have it.

Since writing it, I feel like it’s something people can read and relate to, like it’s something that connects me to the people who visit here, more so than before. Because if they too can agree with it and believe in it, we’ll share a deeper bond. We’ll be complete strangers, but have a shared outlook. And I like that. So if you haven’t already, hop on over to the new creed page to check it out.

That’s all I wanted to say this morning, I hope you’re having a great weekend.

“Celebrate them like you would your kids” hits home for me! Envy really sucks. I love how positive your creed is! Thanks for sharing this idea of having a personal creed. Now I’m going to jot down some ideas…

Thank you so much! I’m so glad it’s giving you some ideas for your own creed, I think it’s so important to have some kind of personal creed or manifesto that allows you to remember your values/what’s important when times get tough. Glad you stopped by! :)
