Cocktails inspired by literary greats. Is there anything more novel? Probably, but we’re in a fictional, libational mood. There’s nothing like sitting down on a warm, comfy chair with a good book and a glass of your favorite poison. And while we all know what does and what doesn’t mix together in terms of liquor and tonics, what about liquor and books?

First of all, hi.

Second of all, I love Instagram. Are we following each other yet?

Recently I’ve discovered a ton of new people who post the most inspiring stuff. I ventured out and started following people I don’t know, who take the most beautiful pictures. Most are about love, some are about peace and living in LA, (even though those two things don’t quite go together), and some are just wacky and unique. I know you’re probably on Instagram too, so I wanted to share with you a few of my favorites, in case you were interested in seeing some new pictures in your feed

eyelash pots

I’ll keep this quick. This week has been all over the place crazy. I had pizza four times. I found God again. And I’m wonderfully horrible at that free driving game that comes with Xbox One.

So this Friday’s shareables are going to be short and sweet! All in all I hope this week for you was better than last, and that you take this weekend one beautiful minute at a time. SUMMER is upon us! And it tastes so sweet.

Well, it’s over. I survived my first blog panel. I’m having a glass of wine and watching Heaven is For Real, and Adam is at a soccer game at the Rose Bowl. But the panel is over, and wow. Sometimes when you speak in front of people you don’t know, afterwards, you feel like there isn’t anything you can’t do.

MostAlive

How would you complete this sentence?

I feel most alive when…

If you had asked me that question a week ago, I’d have said when I’m writing. And maybe that still rings partially true. But a couple of days ago, I was walking to the store on my lunch break, and I realized I feel most alive when I’m struggling.

Struggle has a negative connotation. It sounds as though you’re in pain, or you’re going through hardship, or you need help. I don’t necessarily need help. My struggles are the sort of normal struggles every human goes through, in terms of juggling hopes, dreams, money, career, and happiness.

Lynda Blog Post 3

My mom got a Lynda membership a few months ago, and sent me her login info so I could take all kinds of Lynda courses for free. So what did I do with all of that free, limitless knowledge that could help me grow my online marketing, writing, and wanna-be entrepreneurship skills? Absolutely nada. Nothing.

Why? Because when I do have time, I want to do. I want to write, I want to research new opportunities, I want to publish. I keep my foot on the gas pedal and pencil in only things that will get me closer to my goals, and setting up time to learn never makes it in. And it should.

weeklyshareables

I decided to break up the shareables this week so they’re easier to digest than a bunch of random links. For instance, I lumped the dancing korean baby in the ‘fun & interesting’ section. That one really brightened my day. Let me know if this makes things a bit easier.

And one last thing before you go…do you watch Game of Thrones? I just started and…let’s just say my hours of sleep have been diminished tenfold, and I’ve been using phrases like ‘my lord’ and ‘the gods’ far more than I should for a person in this century.

I’m speaking at my first blog panel on July 22nd, and the first way I’m keeping calm is through my sheer and utter excitement. Yes, for the first time in my life, nervous excitement feels amazing, and it’s like I’m standing at the edge of a tall building I’ve been itching to jump off of for months, and an unexpected stranger has finally agreed to give me a push.
